1.2 These Terms and Conditions apply to students and tutors unless specifically stated otherwise.
1.3 These Terms and Conditions replace any previous versions.
1.4 Tutoring Ambitions is owned and operated by Tutoring Ambitions Ltd, trading as Tutoring Ambitions.
1.5 Tutoring Ambitions is a limited liability company registered in England and Wales under company number: 14714240.
1.6 The registered office of Tutoring Ambitions is at 51 Paulet Road, London, SE5 9HP.

1.8 Users may register on the website as a student or a tutor. Non-registered users can access the site, but registration allows certain information to be stored for easier future use.

2. Rights & Responsibilities

2.1 Tutoring Ambitions will facilitate connections between tutors and students by allowing tutors to advertise their tuition services on the website and enabling students to book and pay for lessons.
2.2 Tutoring Ambitions will maintain a functioning website, including communication systems, a booking platform, and an online classroom, wherever possible.
2.3 Tutoring Ambitions cannot guarantee that the website will always be available or work perfectly, but it will endeavour to minimise downtime.
2.4 Occasionally, the website may need to be taken offline for maintenance purposes.
2.5 Tutoring Ambitions will communicate planned maintenance or downtime to users where possible.
2.6 Tutoring Ambitions will take reasonable measures to keep the website free from viruses and malicious software.
2.7 Tutoring Ambitions will use reasonable endeavours to verify the identity of all tutors and conduct background checks for those with "Background Checked Status."
2.8 Tutoring Ambitions will decide when a tutor’s profile is sufficiently complete to go live on the website and become accessible to users.
2.9 Tutoring Ambitions will communicate new bookings, booking confirmations, and cancellations to both students and tutors via the website and by email unless users choose to adjust their notification preferences.
2.10 Tutoring Ambitions will ensure the prompt processing of: students' payments for lesson fees, tutors' payments for tutor fees, refunds to students in accordance with these terms and conditions, and failed payments in accordance with these terms and conditions.
2.11 Tutoring Ambitions will ensure complaints are considered promptly and handled in accordance with these terms and conditions.
2.13 Tutoring Ambitions may monitor postings on the website and messages sent between students and tutors to help facilitate connections and prevent misuse of the website, as outlined in these terms and conditions.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Users are responsible for their own security when using the website and services, both online and offline.
3.2 Users must ensure all posted material is lawful, non-defamatory, and not offensive.
3.3 Any offensive or illegal content must be reported immediately.
3.4 Users must evaluate the accuracy of website information themselves. Tutoring Ambitions does not guarantee all content is up to date.
3.5 Users must notify Tutoring Ambitions immediately if they suspect their password has been compromised. They are responsible for any actions taken with their account until notification.

4. Student Responsibilities

4.1 Students must be at least 18 years old to book tutors for themselves. Students under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
4.2 Students are responsible for keeping their contact details accurate.
4.3 Students must enter valid payment details when confirming their first lesson.
4.4 Students enter into a direct contract with tutors for lesson provision, and Tutoring Ambitions is not liable for the tutor’s performance.
4.5 Students must not attempt to circumvent Tutoring Ambitions’ platform for booking tutors.
4.6 Students are responsible for verifying tutor credentials, expertise, and qualifications.
4.7 Students must ensure they have the correct equipment for accessing the online classroom. No refunds will be issued for technical issues on the student’s end.

5. Cancellations

5.1 Students may cancel bookings without charge by providing more than 24 hours’ notice.
5.2 These Terms do not affect a student’s statutory rights.
5.3 Students may cease using the service at any time without further obligations (beyond paying for completed bookings).

6. Tutor Status and Responsibilities

6.1 Tutors are self-employed and are solely responsible for their actions on and off the website.
6.2 Tutors must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in the UK.
6.3 Tutors must ensure their personal information and statements on the website are accurate and promptly updated if needed.
6.4 Tutors must disclose any criminal convictions or cautions before and during their registration.
6.5 Tutors must not complete coursework or assignments on behalf of students.
6.6 Tutors are responsible for setting their own fees, which must not undercut Tutoring Ambitions’ terms.
6.7 Tutors must ensure all communication with students is conducted via the website.
6.8 Tutors must have the appropriate equipment for accessing the online classroom. Failure to do so may result in refunds to students.
6.9 Lessons may be recorded for quality and dispute resolution purposes. Tutors consent to recordings being shared with students where applicable
